João is an experienced and creative strategic-thinker, problem-solver, entrepreneur and consultant in the sports industry. His expertise covers the fields of marketing, media rights, communications, digital media and sponsorship, and he is recognised as a skilful networker.

João has an Exec. MBA by the University of São Paulo (BRA) and a Master in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport, by De Monfort University (GBR), SDA Bocconi (ITA) and Université de Neuchâtel (SUI) – the FIFA Master.

​

He is co-author of “Mobile Sports Rights in Europe 2006”, “Sports on Broadband 2007: Video Rights, the Internet and IPTV” and “Soccerex Football Finance 100”.

 

Before starting his own consultancy business, he’d been the General Manager of Sportcal Europe for four years and, prior to that, the senior editor for FIFA’s Fifaworldcup.com in Portuguese, before and during the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

 

João is the founder of the first and most important international career fair for the sports industry in the world, the iWorkinSport Job Fair. He is also a former Vice President and currently Executive Director of the FIFA Master Alumni Association.
